Brief: To create user documentation for a Disney-branded mobile phone that is approachable and informative for both parents and children.
Solution: Due to packaging constraints, the user manual required a 190 x 65mm form factor. We used this to our advantage by creating the guide in a landscape orientation, using three text columns per page. The layout proved to be very efficient and, in unison with a succinct writing style, allowed the overall page count to be minimised considerably.
The folded quick start guide consists of a small poster depicting Mickey Mouse on one side (not illustrated by Corporate Text & Design), with initial setup instructions (in up to three languages) on the reverse.
So far the documentation sets have been produced in English, French, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese, with more to follow.
